The 50 Year Class Reunion of the

George Washington High School Class of 1961

TOOK PLACE the first weekend of November, 2011 at the Embassy Suites in Alexandria, Virginia

Friday Night, our Hospitality Suite (sponsored by HSquared Consultants, classmate, Helen Neal Harrington) opened at 5:00. There was outstanding beer from Port City Brewing Company, Alexandria, Virginia, (owned by Mary Ellen File’s son), assorted finger food, snacks, liquor, wine and best of all, good old (in every sense of the word) friends.

Saturday morning, a group of us visited and toured GW -- Did you find your old locker? A bus tour of our old elementary schools and neighborhoods took place afterwards.

Then it was down to the riverfront ...

Then there was the Dinner Buffet ...

  • Field Greens with Walnuts, Dried Cranberries and Champagne Vinaigrette

  • Fresh Baked Dinner Rolls with Whipped Butter

  • Stuffed Chicken Breast with Wild Rice and Smoked Gouda Cheese

  • Grilled Salmon with Sweet Chili Sauce

  • Tenderloin Tips with Portobello Demi-Glace (Webmaster Mark particularly enjoyed this dish!)

  • Chef's Selection of Vegetables

  • Chef's Selection of Dessert and Fruit Display

  • Iced Tea and Coffee

Coupled with the Dance ...  Great hits of the late 50’s and early 60’s

Booklet: All attendees received a booklet with bio’s and address information for their classmates. If you did not attend and would like a booklet so you can catch up with and contact old friends, contact Richard Sparks.
